Organization Scenarios

This describes common scenarios related to organization membership, roles, and member management.

Unable to Invite a User

If you cannot invite a user, check the following:

  • The user is already a member of the organization.
  • A pending invitation already exists for the email address.
  • You have permission to invite members.
  • The assigned role is below your own role level.

For invitation-specific issues, see Invitations.

Unable to Change or Remove a Member

You cannot change or remove a member whose role level is equal to or higher than your own.

You also cannot remove yourself from the organization.

If you have the required permissions, open Settings, select Organization, and manage the member's role or access.

Removed Member's Data Products Are Still Available

Removing a member revokes their access to the organization but does not delete the Data Products or pipelines they created.

The Data Products and pipelines remain available to other authorized organization members.

Personal Organization Still Visible

A personal organization is created when a user does not belong to a team organization.

When the user joins a team organization, their personal organization is cleaned up if it is no longer needed.

If the personal organization is still visible after joining a team organization, verify that the user accepted the invitation for the correct organization.

Role Does Not Provide the Expected Access

A user's available features depend on their assigned organization role.

If a user does not have the required access, an authorized organization member can review and update their role from Settings, under Organization.

For issues specifically related to access after accepting an invitation, see Invitations.
